Atiku tells Tinubu to return to Lagos ahead of 2027 election

 

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has sent a strong political message to President Bola Tinubu after emerging as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 election.

Speaking in Abuja shortly after the party’s primary election, Atiku said President Tinubu should begin preparing to leave office when his tenure ends.

The former PDP presidential candidate made the statement while addressing journalists and party supporters following his victory at the primary.

Atiku openly told the president to “pack and go back to Lagos,” a statement that has already triggered reactions across political circles and social media.

According to him, the 2027 election will give Nigerians another opportunity to decide the country’s future.

He also suggested that many citizens are demanding a change in leadership.

The ADC candidate used the moment to thank party members and fellow aspirants for what he described as a peaceful and competitive primary process.

Atiku congratulated other contestants who participated in the primary election.

He said they all showed patriotism and commitment toward building a better Nigeria.

“I congratulate my fellow contestants for this ticket to represent our great party,” he said.

He added that the contest reflected a shared desire among party members to improve the lives of Nigerians.

How Atiku Won the ADC Ticket

During the primary election, Atiku defeated former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen to secure the party’s presidential ticket.

Reports from the election showed that Atiku polled 1,846 votes to emerge victorious.

His emergence has now set the stage for another major political battle ahead of the 2027 general election.
