The Kwara State Police Command has begun investigating the alleged murder of a farmer, Abdulazeez Abubakar Abiodun, popularly known as “Kebe,” in Isin Local Government Area of the state.
The farmer reportedly left home for his farm but did not return. His family became worried and started searching for him. They also discovered his lifeless body in a nearby bush.
According to family members, the attackers tied his hands before killing him. They described the incident as heartbreaking and appealed to security agencies to identify those responsible. They also urged the authorities to ensure the suspects face justice.
Following the incident, Commissioner of Police Ojo Adekimi ordered a thorough investigation. He directed detectives to gather evidence, interview witnesses and identify everyone connected to the crime.
The police said officers had already commenced the investigation. According to the command, the probe will determine the circumstances surrounding the farmer’s death. The command also assured residents that the case would receive the attention it deserves.
Meanwhile, the incident has renewed concerns about security in farming communities across Kwara State. Residents urged security agencies to strengthen patrols and improve safety in rural areas. They also appealed to the police to bring those responsible to justice.
In addition, the command urged members of the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information. Instead, it encouraged anyone with credible information about the incident to report it to the nearest police station to assist the investigation.
