Kogi Gas Truck Explosion Leaves Six Dead at Army Checkpoint

A Kogi gas truck explosion killed six people at an Army checkpoint along the Abuja-Lokoja Federal Highway.

The incident occurred in the Chikara Division area. According to reports, the gas-laden truck caught fire as it approached the checkpoint. Moments later, it exploded and sparked a massive blaze.

The Kogi gas truck explosion destroyed the truck. It also killed the driver and the motor boy. In addition, the fire spread to three trucks parked nearby. Their drivers and motor boys also died, bringing the death toll to six.

Police officers, Federal Road Safety Corps personnel, and other emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the blast. They evacuated the victims’ bodies to the General Hospital in Abaji. They also removed the burnt vehicles from the highway. As a result, traffic gradually returned to normal.
