A Chief Magistrate Court in Adamawa State has sentenced a Shila Boys member jailed over theft and extortion offences to 12 years in prison. The court’s decision followed a trial involving criminal activities linked to the group.
The convict, identified as Suddais Shuaibu, was charged with offences connected to theft and extortion. During the court proceedings, the prosecution presented evidence against him. After reviewing the case, the court found him guilty and handed down the prison sentence.
Shuaibu was accused of belonging to the notorious Shila Boys gang, a group associated with street crimes in parts of Adamawa State. The group has been linked to phone theft, intimidation and extortion of residents.
However, authorities have continued efforts to tackle the activities of the gang. Security agencies have carried out operations aimed at reducing criminal activities and improving safety across affected communities.
Meanwhile, officials have urged residents to support security efforts by reporting suspicious movements. They also warned young people against joining criminal groups, noting that offenders would face legal action.
