BBNaija star Phyna wins ₦50 million and a new car after knocking out actress Nkechi Blessing in a celebrity boxing fight in Lagos.
Big Brother Naija winner Josephina Otabor, popular as Phyna, defeated Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday in a celebrity boxing match in Lagos.
The big fight took place on Thursday night, October 1, 2026, during the “Chaos in the Ring” celebrity show held at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island.
The win brought a big reward for Phyna, who went home with a grand prize of ₦50 million and a brand new car.
The fight started because the two famous women had been arguing and throwing harsh words at each other on social media for a long time.
Things got worse when they almost fought during a TV interview session and clashed during their pre-fight press meetings. Before stepping into the ring, both women promised to destroy each other in front of their fans.
Bragging before the fight, Nkechi Blessing said: “I am 100 per cent prepared for the fight. I will beat her with my first blow, and she won’t stand a chance after that.”
Phyna did not stay quiet and quickly responded: “She is an old woman, and I will continue to disgrace her. I will beat her in round 2.”
When the fight officially started, both women rushed at each other as the crowd cheered. Nkechi Blessing came out strong with heavy pushes and wild punches, trying to knock Phyna down quickly.
However, Phyna stayed calm, covered her face, and waited for her opponent to get tired. In the four round bout, Phyna began landing clean, heavy punches directly on Nkechi Blessing.
In the final stage of the match, Phyna landed a hard blow that knocked Nkechi Blessing out, forcing the referee to stop the fight and declare Phyna the winner.

After the referee raised her hand as the champion, Phyna expressed her joy and thanked her supporters. She also hinted that she wants to continue boxing as a real career path.
Addressing the crowd after receiving her ₦50 million cheque and new car, Phyna said: “I came in, and I kept my cool and did the thing. Now I would like to fight Etinosa. I think it is time I teach her a lesson.”
Actress Etinosa Idemudia, who was sitting near the ring watching the fight, immediately accepted the challenge.
Speaking on the mic, Etinosa replied: “I have been advising you to carry the Edo name with pride. We do not run from any fight. I accept the challenge fully.”
The event ended with fans celebrating Phyna’s victory across social media after watching her turn their long standing online drama into a win in the boxing ring.
