When we identify a significant factual error, we will take appropriate steps to correct it and, where necessary, inform readers that a correction has been made.
1. Our Commitment to Accuracy
ModernCrux makes reasonable efforts to ensure that information published on our website is accurate and properly sourced.
Our journalists and editors are expected to verify important information before publication and to review stories carefully for factual accuracy.
However, when an error occurs, our responsibility is to correct it rather than conceal it.
2. What Qualifies for a Correction?

3. How Corrections Are Made
When a significant factual error is confirmed, ModernCrux may:
1. Correct the inaccurate information in the article.
2. Add a correction note explaining what was changed when appropriate.
3. Update the article’s publication or update information where necessary.
4. Review related articles if the same error appears elsewhere.
For significant corrections, we aim to be transparent about what was wrong and what has been corrected.
4. Correction Notices
A significant correction may be identified in the article using a notice such as:
Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated [incorrect information]. The article has been corrected to reflect [correct information].
The wording may vary depending on the nature of the error.
5. Reader Requests
Readers are encouraged to contact ModernCrux when they believe an article contains a factual error.
A correction request should include:
* The title or URL of the article
* The specific statement believed to be incorrect
* The correct information
* Evidence or a reliable source supporting the correction
* Contact information where a response is requested
Correction requests can be sent to the ModernCrux editorial team through the publication’s official editorial contact channel.
6. Editorial Review
A correction request does not automatically mean that an article will be changed.
The editorial team will review the information provided and, where necessary, consult the journalist, editor, original sources or relevant documentation before determining whether a correction is warranted.
ModernCrux reserves the right to reject correction requests that are unsupported, misleading or intended primarily to alter legitimate journalism.
7. Corrections to Headlines
Because headlines are an important part of journalism, ModernCrux will correct headlines when they contain materially inaccurate information.
A headline may also be changed to improve clarity or accuracy without a formal correction notice when the underlying article remains factually correct.
8. Updates and Developing Stories
News stories can change as new information becomes available.
An update is not necessarily a correction.
For example, when a breaking-news story initially contains information available at the time of publication and authorities later provide additional confirmed information, ModernCrux may update the story to reflect the latest developments.
Where appropriate, significant updates will be clearly identified.
9. Corrections Involving Third-Party Information
When ModernCrux publishes information obtained from another publication, organisation, agency or source and that information is subsequently shown to be incorrect, the newsroom will review the article and make corrections where necessary.
Attribution to another source does not remove ModernCrux’s responsibility to publish accurate information.
10. Removal of Articles
A factual error does not automatically require an article to be deleted.
Where possible, ModernCrux will correct the article while preserving the legitimate journalistic record.
An article may be removed, substantially revised or otherwise restricted in exceptional circumstances, including serious legal, privacy, safety or ethical concerns.
11. Corrections and Legal Matters
Requests to correct or remove information because of legal concerns will be reviewed by the appropriate editorial leadership.
ModernCrux will seek to balance accuracy, privacy, public interest, freedom of expression and applicable legal obligations.
12. Editorial Independence
Corrections are made on the basis of accuracy and editorial standards.
Advertisers, sponsors, public-relations agencies, political organisations, public officials or other external parties cannot require ModernCrux to alter accurate journalism simply because they disagree with its content.
Where a legitimate factual error exists, however, ModernCrux will take appropriate steps to correct it regardless of the identity or status of the person or organisation involved.
13. Our Standard
ModernCrux believes that correcting mistakes is a fundamental part of responsible journalism.
Our goal is not to claim that we will never make mistakes. Our goal is to ensure that when mistakes occur, we:
Identify them. Verify them. Correct them. Explain significant corrections. Learn from them.
Readers deserve accurate information and a newsroom that takes responsibility for its journalism.
