Skit maker Carter Efe beats musician Speed Darlington in a celebrity boxing fight in Lagos to keep his title belt.
Popular Nigerian skit maker and streamer Carter Efe has beaten controversial US-based musician Speed Darlington in a big celebrity boxing match held in Lagos.
The contest took place on Thursday night, October 1, 2026, during the “Chaos in the Ring” event organized by Balmoral Group Promotions at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island.
The victory allowed Carter Efe to successfully defend and retain his celebrity championship belt in front of a loud crowd.
The bad blood between the two famous entertainers began long before they stepped into the boxing ring. The main reason for the fight was a continuous social media feud where both men traded heavy insults and challenged each other’s fighting ability.
The anger reached a boiling point during their official pre-fight face-off, where Speed Darlington kicked over a birthday cake that was brought out to celebrate Carter Efe.
During the pre-fight press conference, Carter Efe mocked Speed Darlington for his previous boxing loss to controversial singer Portable, saying that the musician was not on his level.
Warning his opponent before the match, Carter Efe said: “Speed Darlington, are you insane? You want to fight me when you could not beat Portable. You should not be in the ring with me at all, and that is why I will beat you.”
He also defended his dramatic personality, adding: “Some people think me calling out Wizkid is disrespectful too, but it is not. It is entertainment. It is not disrespectful. I do not know why people think that. It is a sport, and we will entertain fans and make money.”
Speed Darlington did not back down from the threats and warned Carter Efe that he was coming to take his championship title away from him.
Pointing at Carter Efe’s championship belt, Speed Darlington said: “Be careful with that belt. Your belt is mine. Do not scratch it now.”
When the referee rang the bell to start the four-round bout, Carter Efe took control of the ring from the very first round.
He moved quickly and threw hard, direct punches that hit Speed Darlington repeatedly. Speed Darlington struggled to defend against the fast attacks and could not land any solid punches in return.
As the fight continued into the fourth round, Carter Efe continued to dominate the match completely. Speed Darlington became visibly tired and stopped moving around the ring, leaving him unable to continue fighting properly. The referee stepped in to stop the fight and declared Carter Efe the winner by unanimous decision.

After his hand was raised as the winner, Carter Efe celebrated inside the ring by dancing for the cheering crowd.
Speaking about his plans after retaining his title, Carter Efe shared that he wants to settle down in his personal life before thinking about his next fight. He stated: “I want to marry my girlfriend, Taylor Jasmine, before considering my next bout.”
When someone asked if he would ever consider fighting world boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in the future, the idea was quickly shut down as people laughed, with the responder saying: “Fight with Mayweather? Hell no. That ain’t happening.”
With this clear victory over Speed Darlington, Carter Efe has once again proved himself as the reigning champion among celebrity fighters in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
