Russian night air strikes near Kyiv killed three people, including a child, and left three others injured as homes were destroyed.
A sad and scary event happened overnight near Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv. Russian military forces launched a big attack using air weapons like missiles and flying explosive drones. The night attack caused terrible damage in quiet neighborhood areas where ordinary families were sleeping in their homes.
When morning came, officials confirmed that three people lost their lives in the heavy shelling. Heartbreakingly, one of the three people who died was a young child. Three other people suffered bad injuries, including another child, and emergency doctors had to help them quickly.
The tragic deaths happened just outside the main capital city, in an area called the Brovary district. Local workers said that when Ukrainian soldiers tried to shoot down the incoming air weapons, heavy broken metal pieces fell from the sky. These falling pieces crashed right into private family houses, small storage sheds, and parked cars. Strong fires broke out instantly, burning down buildings and scattering smoke across the neighborhoods.
As rescue teams rushed to put out the flames, regional military official Tymur Tkachenko publicly shared the sad news on social media. Addressing the public about the terrible loss, Tymur Tkachenko said, “As of now, the consequences of the enemy attack have been recorded at three locations. Sadly, three people have been killed, including a child. Three others were injured, also including a child.”
People living in the area heard massive, loud explosions shaking their walls during the middle of the night. Sirens screamed loudly across the region to warn families to hide in underground shelters, basements, or subway stations. Many families had to run out into the dark in their night clothes while smoke filled the air.

This tragic attack is part of a bigger war happening in Ukraine. For many months, Russian forces have been firing weapons at Ukrainian towns, electricity systems, and residential areas. Families who lost their loved ones are receiving medical care and help from community groups as they mourn this heartbreaking loss.
