2027: ADC Makes Its Move in Ebonyi South, Picks Ideyi for Senate Race

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has made its move ahead of the 2027 elections by picking Ideyi as its candidate for Ebonyi South Senatorial District.

Ideyi emerged from the party’s senatorial primary election in Ebonyi State. According to Daily Post, the primary was held as part of the ADC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.

His emergence gives the party a candidate for the closely watched senatorial contest. Political activities are already gaining momentum across Ebonyi State. Parties are also working to strengthen their structures before the elections.

For the ADC, choosing Ideyi marks an important step in that process. The party will now begin the bigger task of selling its candidate to voters across Ebonyi South.

Ideyi will also need to build strong grassroots support before the election. The race could become more competitive as other political parties pick their candidates.

Meanwhile, the ADC has continued to position itself as an alternative political platform ahead of the 2027 polls. The party’s growing activities have added fresh interest to political contests across the country.

For Ideyi, however, securing the ADC ticket is only the beginning. He must now take the party’s message to communities across the senatorial district. He will also have to convince voters to back the ADC at the polls.

That task could become more difficult as rival candidates begin their own campaigns. The coming months are therefore expected to bring more political meetings, consultations and realignments in Ebonyi South.

Voters will also be watching closely as the major parties reveal their plans for the district. With Ideyi now confirmed as its candidate, the ADC has started its journey towards the 2027 senatorial election.

The big question is whether the party can turn the new momentum into enough support to challenge its rivals when voters head to the polls.
