ADC Rejects Adamawa LG Results, Demands Fresh Poll

Candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have rejected the results of the June 13 local government elections in Adamawa State.

The candidates, who contested for chairmanship counsellorship positions, said the election lacked credibility. They alleged that voting did not take place in several polling units across the state.

They argued that the results announced by the electoral commission do not reflect the will of voters.

Candidates Question Election Process
The ADC candidates claimed the election was marred by irregularities. They said the process failed to meet accepted democratic standards.

According to them, many communities did not witness proper voting. They questioned how winners emerged in areas where election activities were allegedly absent.

Call for Fresh Poll

The candidates called for the cancellation of the results. They also demanded a fresh election across the state.
They urged the electoral commission to conduct a transparent and credible poll that would reflect the wishes of the electorate.

Stakeholders Asked to Intervene

The candidates appealed to civil society groups and other democratic stakeholders to intervene. They said allowing the results to stand could weaken public trust in the electoral process.

According to daily news,They added that they would continue to pursue lawful means to challenge the outcome while pushing for a fresh election.
