Atiku Breaks Silence After Amaechi Rejects ADC Primary Results

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reacted publicly after former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi rejected the outcome of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary election.

Amaechi had earlier expressed disappointment over the conduct of the primary. He questioned the credibility of the process and refused to accept the outcome, a development that quickly sparked reactions among party supporters and political observers.

Atiku Calls for Unity

In his first message following the controversy, Atiku appealed for calm and unity within the party. He urged members of the ADC and its supporters not to allow disagreements weaken their common goal ahead of the 2027 general election.

According to Atiku, political differences are normal in a democracy. However, he stressed that party members must remain focused on building a stronger opposition capable of offering Nigerians an alternative in 2027.

The former presidential candidate also encouraged party stakeholders to settle internal disputes peacefully and avoid actions that could create deeper divisions within the coalition.

Tension Grows Ahead of 2027

Amaechi’s rejection of the ADC primary results has continued to generate debate across the political space. While some supporters believe he has genuine concerns about the process, others have called on party leaders to quickly resolve the crisis before it escalates further.

Political analysts say the situation may test the unity of the opposition coalition as preparations for the 2027 election gradually intensify.

The development has also increased discussions about the future of the ADC and the role major political figures may play in shaping the opposition movement ahead of the next presidential race.

Nigerians React Online

Many Nigerians have also reacted on social media following the disagreement between Atiku and Amaechi. Some users praised Atiku’s calm response, while others insisted the party must address the issues raised by Amaechi to maintain credibility.

As of the time of filing this report, Amaechi has not officially responded to Atiku’s latest message.
