Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, National Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party, PRP, has taken a strong swipe at President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
According to daily post, Baba-Ahmed described Tinubu as the worst president Nigeria has had since independence.
He also warned that the North could face tougher times if Tinubu returns to power after the 2027 presidential election. The PRP chairman made the remarks while speaking about the country’s political situation and the growing preparations for the 2027 election.
According to him, the North has already faced serious challenges under the current administration. He argued that giving Tinubu another four years could make the situation even worse for the region.
Baba-Ahmed went as far as warning that the North could be “finished” if Tinubu wins another term. His comments come as political parties and politicians begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
Tinubu is expected to seek re-election, although the political contest is already attracting interest from opposition figures and other potential contenders. For Baba-Ahmed, however, another Tinubu administration would not serve the interests of the North.
He also questioned the direction of the country under the present government, particularly with the challenges facing ordinary Nigerians.
