National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Seriake Dickson, has predicted a massive 2027 defeat for Tinubu and the APC if Nigerians vote in a free and fair election. He said widespread dissatisfaction with the current administration would drive voters to reject the ruling party at the polls.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Dickson said many Nigerians believe the APC government has failed to meet their expectations. According to him, the electorate will express that disappointment through the ballot if the electoral process remains credible.
The former Bayelsa State governor insisted that only a transparent democratic process can determine the outcome of the election. Therefore, he urged authorities to allow every political party to contest freely without interference or intimidation.
Furthermore, Dickson said the NDC is willing to engage other opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general election. However, he explained that the party hopes any future alliance will strengthen its chances and support its candidates.
He admitted that discussions among opposition leaders are still ongoing. Meanwhile, the parties have not agreed on a common position. Dickson added that clearer decisions would emerge after political parties conclude their nomination processes.
The senator also defended the NDC’s use of the peace symbol. He argued that no individual or organisation can claim exclusive ownership of the internationally recognised symbol. In addition, he expressed confidence that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the judiciary would act in line with the law.
According to daily post,Finally, Dickson said the opposition remains focused on presenting Nigerians with a credible alternative ahead of the 2027 election. Ultimately, he expressed confidence that voters would determine the outcome through a free, fair and credible electoral process.
