Veteran Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has claimed that the entertainment industry often promotes self-worship instead of encouraging people to glorify God.
He made the statement during an interview with media personality Joey Akan, where he reflected on fame, faith and his personal journey.
According to Jim Iyke, the entertainment industry creates an atmosphere where many celebrities begin to see themselves as the centre of attention.
As a result, some entertainers gradually develop a mindset that places themselves above others. He described that attitude as a form of satanism because it takes the focus away from God.
The actor recalled a period in his career when he believed he was different from everyone else. He said fans often cried, screamed or even fainted whenever they saw him, making him feel unusually important. However, he later realised that he had embraced self-worship without recognising it at the time.
Jim Iyke explained that giving his life to Christ completely changed his perspective. Since then, he has come to understand that no individual should take God’s place, regardless of fame or public admiration.
Furthermore, he maintained that the entertainment industry does not encourage people to worship God. Instead, it often celebrates personal glory and places excessive attention on individuals.
He urged entertainers to remain grounded in their faith and avoid allowing popularity, success or public praise to distract them from serving God.
As stated by daily post,According to him, true fulfilment comes from recognising God’s place above every achievement and refusing to let fame become an object of worship.
