MTN Nigeria Approves ₦26 Dividend Payment to Reward Shareholders on September 7

MTN Nigeria will pay ₦26 per share to eligible shareholders on September 7, 2026, following strong half year financial results.

Telecommunications leader MTN Nigeria has officially approved a payout of twenty-six Naira for every share held by its investors following a successful first half of the year.

The major financial decision was confirmed in an official company report issued by MTN Nigeria Company Secretary Uto Ukpanah, stating that money will be transferred directly into eligible shareholders’ bank accounts starting on Monday, September 7, 2026.

To qualify for this cash reward, investors must ensure their names are properly recorded in the company’s official member list by the close of business on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

The main reason for this massive cash distribution is MTN Nigeria’s impressive financial recovery and growing profit margins despite general economic challenges across the country.

During the first six months of the year ending June 30, 2026, the telecom giant generated trillions of Naira in service revenue from voice calls, mobile data usage, and digital services.

Because the business earned huge profits and maintained strong cash flow, the board of directors decided to share the profit with everyday people and institutional investors who bought shares in the company.

Explaining how the company managed to achieve strong profits to pay its investors, MTN Nigeria Chief Executive Officer Karl Toriola credited smart money management and steady customer demand.

Highlighting the company’s financial growth, Karl Toriola stated that the half year results showed evidence of “sustained commercial momentum, improved profitability and robust cash generation”.

He added that a stronger local currency and careful spending helped the telecom provider overcome heavy operational expenses.

To receive the money without delays, MTN Nigeria advised all shareholders to complete their electronic dividend registration forms with Coronation Registrars Limited so the funds can go straight to their bank accounts.

Financial reporting from outlets like The Guardian Nigeria and Nigeria Communications Week notes that the company’s revenue growth was heavily boosted by millions of Nigerians spending more money on internet data and mobile subscriptions.

In simple terms, MTN Nigeria made a lot of money selling phone calls and internet data during the first six months of the year.

Now, the company is giving a cash reward of twenty-six Naira per share to everyone who owns a piece of the company, and the money will drop into their bank accounts on September 7.
