Sule to End ASUU Strike as Nasarawa Govt Seeks Quick Solution

The Nasarawa State Government has stepped up efforts to resolve the ongoing dispute between the state government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

According to Daily Post, the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Muhammad Ubandoma Aliyu, said Governor Abdullahi Sule would not rest until the dispute is resolved. He said the governor is concerned about the effect of the strike on students.

Aliyu gave the assurance while speaking on the development. He said the state government understands the frustration caused by the disruption of academic activities.

The SSG explained that Governor Sule has remained focused on finding a lasting solution to the disagreement. He added that the administration would continue talks with the relevant parties.

He said the governor wants students to return to their classrooms as soon as possible. The government, he noted, does not want the dispute to continue for much longer.

The strike has affected academic activities and left many students uncertain about when normal lectures will resume. Parents and other members of the university community have also been affected by the situation.

However, the state government said it is committed to dialogue. It hopes discussions with ASUU will produce an agreement that will end the industrial action.

Aliyu also appealed to the affected students and other stakeholders to remain patient. He assured them that the government is working to address the issues behind the dispute.

The SSG stressed that Governor Sule takes the matter seriously. According to him, the governor is ready to continue engaging with all sides until an agreement is reached.

The government’s latest position has raised hopes that the strike could soon come to an end. Students are now waiting for a resolution that will allow academic activities to resume.
