My Friends Abandoned Me After My Health Crisis and Brain Surgery ~ Comedian Julius Agwu Breaks Down in Tears

Popular comedian Julius Agwu cried during an interview as he revealed how close friends abandoned him after his brain surgery.

A famous Nigerian comedian named Julius Agwu could not hold back his tears as he talked about the sad things that happened to him after he got very sick.

The popular entertainer opened up during a sit down interview on a video program called the Beer Parlour Talk Show, in a special video titled “Julius Agwu, Back From The Brink.”

During the show, he spoke about how he helped create a new style of comedy in Nigeria many years ago and how many of his close friends abandoned him when he had a serious brain surgery and health emergency.

While speaking on the show, the comedian became very emotional when he started remembering his hard work in the Nigerian entertainment business.

He reminded people that he was the person who first invented a unique way of mixing music with jokes to make people laugh, a style that many artists use today.

Speaking about his deep connection to this style of comedy, Julius Agwu said, “Of that alleged comedy, na me stay, I stayed and form that coinage.”

He went on to explain how his mind worked to create the new style, saying, “That music-com, yes na me form am to tell you how my brain dey think na him make everything.”

As he kept talking about his past work and how much effort he put into his career, the pain became too much for him to carry.

The comedian stopped talking, removed his glasses from his face, and began to cry openly in front of the cameras. He wiped his face and repeatedly asked the hosts to forgive him for crying, saying sorry over and over again.

After taking a short moment to calm down, he used the time to thank the few good people who stood by his side and helped him survive the terrible medical crisis.

However, the mood turned even sadder when he began talking about the people he thought were his true friends before he fell sick.

He shared that many people he trusted completely stopped reaching out to him or checking on his health as soon as his medical problems started.

Explaining the painful abandonment, Julius Agwu said, “My friends deserted me.” He then spoke specifically about a manager he trusted with his work and money, stating, “This bishop wey they talk now, he was managing me. Collect my money, do everything, then they stop talking to me, many of them, but God no go leave you.”

The comedian’s health trouble started years ago when doctors discovered tumors in his brain, forcing him to undergo major surgery overseas.

Although he survived the dangerous medical operation and came back home, his life and career suffered greatly because many people in the industry turned their backs on him when he needed help the most.

Seeing how heartbroken he was during the interview, the hosts of the show quickly moved close to comfort him. They held him gently and reminded him that he remains a giant in Nigerian entertainment who paved the way for many younger stars.

They assured him that his great work in the comedy industry will never be forgotten, even if he decides never to perform on a stage again.
