Nigerians demand a full investigation into Senator Shehu Buba over claims that he supports and finances hard criminals and terrorists.
Many concerned citizens across Nigeria are calling on the secret police and top security agencies to properly investigate a serving politician, Senator Shehu Buba Umar.
Senator Buba represents Bauchi South in the National Assembly in Abuja. Citizens are deeply worried because serious claims were made against him, saying that he was secretly giving help, money, and support to dangerous bandits and hard criminals who bring fear to peaceful communities.
The whole argument started when a young man named Hassan Husseini made shocking public claims during an online interview.
In that recorded interview, Hassan stated that the senator was secretly hiding bad gang leaders and helping them. He claimed that people linked to a notorious bandit boss were taken to Abuja for special training with the help of an assistant who works for the politician.
Because of these serious claims, many people across the country felt that the government must not keep quiet. They insist that the secret police must step in quickly to check the facts so that the truth will come out clearly for everyone to see.
In response to the heavy noise, Senator Shehu Buba spoke out publicly to clear his name. He denied every bad claim made against him and explained that he has never supported, armed, or given money to any criminal group anywhere.
The senator explained that he met Hassan back in 2024 as a young orphan who needed financial help to go to school.
He said he paid for the young man to go to school before their relationship later turned sour. He added that people are twisting pictures and old security work he did when he was leading the Senate committee on security to make him look like a bad person.
To show that he has no secret fear, Senator Buba, through his lawyers, wrote directly to the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Police Force, and the military intelligence team, asking them to investigate the whole matter thoroughly.
He insisted that he is completely ready to face trial in court if security officers find any real proof that shows he broke the law.

Explaining that he is totally innocent and willing to cooperate with the law, Senator Buba said, “I have nothing to hide, and I have nothing to fear from any legitimate investigation”.
Challenging those who are spreading the heavy accusations online to present real facts, the senator stated, “If there is evidence against me, let it be produced”.
Warning that people who create fake stories to destroy others must also be punished, he added, “If there is none, those who have deliberately manufactured and circulated these allegations should equally be held accountable under the law”.
The senator urged everyone to stop spreading edited videos on social media and allow official security officers to do their jobs properly.
Citizens and rights groups are now watching closely to see how the security agencies will handle the investigation to ensure that justice is done for the nation.
