PRP Accuses Kwankwaso of Taking 69 Nomination Forms, Threatens Legal Action

PRP accuses Kwankwaso of allegedly collecting 69 nomination forms meant for different political offices in Kano State, a move the party claims disrupted its preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) said many of its aspirants had already paid for the forms but were left stranded after party officials discovered they were no longer available.

PRP Accuses Kwankwaso Over 69 Nomination Forms

Addressing journalists in Kano, PRP State Chairman Abdulkadir Musa Guza said party officials travelled to Kaduna for a retreat and to obtain nomination forms on behalf of aspirants.

According to Guza, they were shocked to learn that all 69 forms had already been collected.

He explained that after contacting the party’s National Secretary, they were informed that the forms had allegedly been collected by former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso during discussions over his possible defection to the PRP.

The chairman said the development came as a surprise because many party members had already completed the necessary payments for the nomination process.

Party Warns of Possible Court Action

The PRP said discussions with Kwankwaso eventually did not result in his joining the party.

The party claimed the situation has created uncertainty for many aspirants and affected its preparations ahead of the next election cycle.

Guza also alleged that similar incidents may have affected other political parties.

He warned that the PRP would not hesitate to seek legal action if the nomination forms are not returned before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) closes the deadline for submitting candidates’ names.

PRP Says Aspirants Are Left Waiting

According to the party, hundreds of members hoping to contest various elective positions are now unsure of what comes next because of the alleged incident.

The PRP insisted that its aspirants deserve a fair opportunity to participate in the nomination process and called for the immediate return of the forms.
