The Tinubu Presidency has claimed that some ministers are using their personal money to keep government offices running.

Onanuga said some ministers have not received capital funds for their ministries. As a result, they have used personal resources to support daily operations.
He explained that several ministers raised the issue during budget discussions. According to him, they chose to keep their offices functioning despite the funding challenges.

Onanuga said the government continues to fund key projects across the country. He pointed to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and other infrastructure projects as examples.
He also highlighted programmes that support ordinary Nigerians. These include the student loan scheme and consumer credit initiatives. He said the programmes help students, workers and families facing economic pressure.
The comments came after questions about the impact of President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms. Critics argue that rising prices and inflation have increased hardship across the country.
However, Onanuga defended the administration’s policies. He said the reforms aim to strengthen the economy and create long-term benefits.
