Tributes Pour In for Actress Hayden Panettiere as Coroner Finds ‘No Signs of Trauma’

Tributes pour in for actress Hayden Panettiere as medical officers confirm no physical trauma was found after her sudden passing at age 36.

Popular American actress Hayden Panettiere has passed away at the age of thirty six. The beloved Hollywood star, who became famous for her leading roles in hit television shows like Heroes and Nashville, was found dead on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

Medical examination officials in Greenville, South Carolina, carried out a post-mortem examination on the actress and confirmed that no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to her death.

While local authorities and police officers continue their investigation into what caused her sudden passing, preliminary reports show no evidence of foul play or violent harm at the scene where she was found.

Emergency service medical teams and police officers first rushed to a residence in Greenville after receiving an urgent 911 phone call at around 1:51 PM local time.

The call was placed by an acquaintance who reported that an adult woman inside the building was unresponsive and in cardiac arrest. Paramedics administered emergency medical treatment right away to try to save her life, but the actress could not be resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office officially identified her as Hayden Panettiere and shared that full laboratory test results will take more time before an official cause of death can be determined.

Following news of her passing, emotional messages and tributes have poured in from fellow actors, celebrity friends, and millions of fans around the world.

Her father, Skip Panettiere, released a heartbreaking statement on behalf of the grieving family to share their pain. Describing his daughter’s legacy and impact, Skip Panettiere stated, “She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her, and to the millions who watched her onscreen”. He also asked the public to give their family peace and privacy while they process the terrible loss.

Co stars and colleagues from the film and television industry also expressed deep sadness over losing such a young and gifted performer.

Oscar winning actress Viola Davis, who acted alongside Panettiere in the movie Custody, shared a touching tribute on social media. Honoring her former co star’s talent, Davis said, “What an amazing talent you were….so gifted. Julius and I loved working with you….an old, wise soul with such a deep heart”.

Similarly, actress Kelly Osbourne posted a heartfelt message remembering her close friend, writing, “My heart grieves for someone so special to this world and such a good friend to me. I will never forget you, Hayden, and I will always believe you deserved better”.

Hayden Panettiere first started acting as a child, appearing in major films like Remember the Titans alongside Denzel Washington.

She later gained worldwide fame playing the invincible cheerleader Claire Bennet on the superhero series Heroes and earned critical praise starring as country singer Juliette Barnes on Nashville.
