Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the refreshed 2027 C-Class sedan with new star-shaped lights, a larger front grille, and a smart AI assistant.
Famous German luxury carmaker Mercedes Benz revealed the updated version of its popular C-Class sedan on Monday, August 17, 2026.
The new 2027 model gives a fresh makeover to the long running gas-powered car so it can match the company’s bigger luxury cars and newer electric models.
Auto experts and car enthusiasts got their first official look at the updated sedan through major automotive outlets including Car and Driver, Jalopnik, and Drive Australia.
The main focus of this new update is the front of the car, which gets a much bigger grille surrounded by sleek black trim and shiny chrome borders.
Small three pointed Mercedes star logos are now built right inside both the front headlights and the rear taillights.
The car also projects glowing star logos onto the ground next to the doors when you step outside at night. Buyers will also get new paint colors to choose from, including Miami Silver Metallic and Moody Sky Grey Metallic, alongside fresh wheel choices.
Inside the cabin, Mercedes focused on making the car smarter and easier to control. The big change inside is the upgraded virtual assistant, which now uses artificial intelligence programs like ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini to talk with the driver.
According to Car and Driver reporter Caleb Miller, the virtual assistant “can engage in complex conversations and has short-term memory, responding like a well informed friend”. Drivers also get a redesigned steering wheel that features a physical roller dial to adjust the music volume.

Under the hood, the car keeps its four cylinder turbo engine but gets a helpful boost from a 48 volt hybrid electric system.
The engine still makes 255 horsepower for everyday driving, but a new special boost feature gives drivers an extra 27 horsepower for up to twenty seconds when speeding up to pass other vehicles.
Engineers also retuned the car’s suspension to make the ride smoother and changed the side mirrors to block out highway wind noise inside the cabin.
The refreshed 2027 Mercedes Benz C-Class sedan is officially scheduled to reach car dealerships across the United States and global markets during the first half of 2027.
Automotive reviewers note that while an all electric C-Class is also coming out, this gas-powered model remains the main choice for traditional drivers who want modern luxury combined with classic fuel power.
