The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration of worsening economic hardship. The party claims millions of Nigerians now struggle to survive because of rising hunger and the high cost of living.
ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi made the remarks while reacting to a recent United Nations report on food insecurity. He said the report reflects the reality many families face every day. According to him, soaring food prices have made basic necessities unaffordable for many household.
Abdullahi argued that the government’s economic reforms have not delivered the promised relief. Instead, he said they have increased financial pressure on ordinary Nigerians. As a result, many families now find it harder to buy food and meet other essential needs.
Furthermore, he accused the Federal Government of paying more attention to political debates than to the welfare of citizens. He urged the government to take practical steps to reduce inflation, support food production and restore confidence in the economy.
The ADC spokesperson called on the Tinubu administration to make the fight against hunger a national priority. He urged the government to introduce policies that would lower the cost of living and improve food security across the country.
Meanwhile, public concern over Nigeria’s economic situation continues to grow. Opposition parties and civil society organisations have also called for stronger measures to support struggling families. However, the Federal Government insists its economic reforms will deliver long-term stability despite the current challenges.
According to daily post,The debate over Nigeria’s economy is expected to continue as many Nigerians demand practical solutions to rising inflation, higher food prices and declining purchasing power.
