Osun 2026: APC Pulls Out Top Guns as Akpabio, Uzodimma Storm Osogbo

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has stepped up its campaign for the Osun governorship election with a major rally in Osogbo.

According to daily post, Senate President Godswill Akpabio led several senior party figures to the state on Thursday. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma also joined the APC campaign team at the rally.

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa were also in attendance.

The party organised the rally to drum up support for its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji. With the election only days away, the APC is using its final campaign activities to strengthen its position across the state.

The presence of the party’s top leaders has added more weight to the campaign as the contest enters its final stage. Meanwhile, APC supporters from different parts of Osun gathered in Osogbo for the event.

The party has continued to present Oyebamiji as its preferred choice to lead the state. Oyebamiji will face Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and other candidates in Saturday’s contest.

The APC hopes its campaign efforts will translate into strong support at the polls. For the party, Thursday’s rally also offered an opportunity to energise its supporters before voting begins.

Akpabio’s presence further highlighted the importance of the Osun election to the ruling party. Similarly, the participation of governors from different states showed the level of support behind the APC candidate.

The campaign has now entered its final hours, leaving parties with little time to win over undecided voters. As a result, attention will soon shift from rallies and campaign messages to election-day mobilisation.

The APC will also need to maintain its grassroots structure as voters prepare to choose their next governor. Saturday’s election will determine who takes charge of Osun State for the next four years.

For Oyebamiji and the APC, the rally represents one of the party’s biggest final efforts to convince voters. The party will now look to turn the momentum from Osogbo into electoral support across the state.
