Actress Juliana Olayode sparked online debate after stating that people cannot change Bible teachings to accept homosexual relationships.

Popular Nollywood actress and Christian purity advocate, Juliana Olayode, famously known as “Toyo Baby” from her role in the hit comedy series Jenifa’s Diary, has stirred widespread discussion across social media after speaking out firmly against progressive Christianity and attempts to compromise traditional biblical teachings on sexuality.

The vocal gospel influencer shared her views through a detailed message released on her official Instagram page, cautioning believers against diluting the scriptures to fit modern social trends or personal desires.

Addressing the growing movement of progressive theology that seeks to normalize homosexual relationships within the Christian faith, the actress stated that God’s Word remains eternal and unchangeable regardless of changing human opinions.

She argued that true followers of Jesus Christ must align their lifestyles with the Holy Bible rather than trying to rewrite or reinterpret biblical commandments to make them feel comfortable with sin.

Urging Christians to hold firm to traditional biblical truth without compromise, Juliana Olayode stated: “You cannot rewrite the Bible to suit your lifestyle or modern views. You cannot claim to be a follower of Christ while actively disobeying His clear Word on sexual purity.”

The actress further warned that trying to merge Christian faith with alternative sexual lifestyles creates spiritual confusion and leads believers away from true repentance.

She noted that while God loves every individual unconditionally, His love demands transformation and obedience to His commandments rather than approval of actions that contradict scripture.

Emphasizing the core principles of Christian discipleship and personal holiness, Juliana Olayode added: “God’s love is unconditional, but His standards for holiness do not change. Loving people does not mean changing the Bible to make people feel okay in their sin.”

She called on young Christians across Nigeria and around the world to stand courageously for the gospel, resist public pressure from social media trends, and uphold sexual purity before marriage.

Juliana Olayode’s statement has sparked intense online debate. While many conservative Christians praised the actress for using her public platform to defend traditional faith, critics argued that her stance was rigid and unsupportive of queer individuals seeking a relationship with God.
