FCT Police Rescue a 12 Year Old Girl Being Raped In a Parked Car

Police in Abuja rescued a 12 year old girl and arrested Zazzayanu Halilu after officers saw a parked car shaking at Airport Bridge Taxi Park.

Police officers working in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have saved a young 12 year old girl who was being abused inside a dark car parked by the side of the road.

The police officers arrested a man named Zazzayanu Halilu on October 2 after catching him in the act. The whole event took place around the Airport Bridge Taxi Park in Abuja while the police were doing their normal work of moving around to make sure the area was safe.

According to the official spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, the police officers became curious when they saw a vehicle that did not look right.

The car was a navy blue Volkswagen with the registration plate number KMC567LQ. The glass windows of the car were completely dark so that no one could see inside, and all the glass was rolled up tight.

Even though the car was parked and the engine was off, the vehicle was shaking heavily on the spot.

The police officers felt that something bad was going on inside the vehicle. They walked close to the car to check what was happening.

When they opened the door of the car, they saw the man on top of the young girl, forcing himself on her against her will.

The officers immediately held the man down, put him under arrest, and took the young girl out of the car to keep her safe.

This was not the first time the suspect had done this to the child. When the police started asking questions, they found out that the man had been tricking the young girl into coming to the same location many times before.

He used to carry her inside the same parked car to abuse her and then tell her that he would “deal with her” if she ever told her parents, family, or anyone else what he was doing to her.

After saving the girl, the police took her to the hospital so doctors could look at her body and check her health. SP Josephine Adeh explained the sad outcome of the hospital checkup, stating that “medical examination also revealed that the victim is about three months pregnant as a result of the abuse”.

The police spokesperson confirmed that the small girl is now in a safe place receiving treatment and care from health workers.

SP Josephine Adeh further gave an update on what will happen to the suspect, saying that “the victim is currently receiving medical care and assessment, while the suspect remains in Police custody and will be charged in court upon conclusion of investigations”.

The man remains inside the police cell while officers finish writing down all the details of the case so they can take him before a judge in court.

The police are making sure all evidence is properly packed together so that justice will be served for the young girl.
