A proud mother is celebrating her son’s academic achievement after he graduated with First Class Honours in Cyber Security and Forensic Computing and now begins the search for his first major career opportunity.
For many parents, watching a child finally reach the end of university is a moment that carries years of memories with it.
For Brenda David, that moment has now arrived.
David shared her joy on LinkedIn after her son, Denzel Oyenekan, graduated with a First Class Honours BSc in Cyber Security & Forensic Computing.
In a post celebrating the achievement, she described herself as a proud mum and praised her son’s dedication and determination throughout his university journey.
“Some moments deserve to be celebrated for a long time, and this is one of them,” David wrote.
She said earning the degree reflected the countless hours of work and commitment Denzel had put into his studies.
But there was more to celebrate.
Denzel’s final-year research project was also recognised by his supervisor as having potential for publication. He has since been invited to develop the work further for possible submission to MDPI, an academic publishing platform.
For a new graduate entering a competitive technology industry, that recognition could give him an early boost.
Denzel is now looking for graduate opportunities in cybersecurity, digital forensics, security operations, incident response, threat intelligence and information security.
His mother’s post quickly drew congratulations from people on LinkedIn, with several describing the achievement as something the family should be proud of.
