Osun Election: Oyintiloye Says APC Must Unite and Rebuild

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has called on party members to unite and rebuild after the governorship election.

Oyintiloye said the APC should not allow the election result to create divisions among its members. He urged the party to focus on its weaknesses and find ways to become stronger.

According to Daily Post, Oyintiloye made the call while speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Monday. He said the party must learn from the election and improve its approach before future political contests.

The APC chieftain stressed the need for stronger grassroots engagement across the state. He said party leaders must listen to voters and understand the issues affecting them.

Oyintiloye also praised President Bola Tinubu for his support for the APC during the election. He said the President’s involvement showed his commitment to the party’s growth in Osun.

He noted that the APC still received significant support during the poll. According to him, the votes secured by the party showed that it remains an important political force in the state.

The APC chieftain urged members not to become discouraged by the election outcome. Instead, he asked them to study what happened and use the lessons to prepare for the next election.

He also commended former Osun Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, for his continued commitment to the APC. Oyintiloye said Oyetola’s role remained important to the party’s efforts in the state.

Oyintiloye further praised James Faleke for his contribution to the party’s organisation and grassroots mobilisation. He also recognised APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, for his efforts within the party.

The APC chieftain called on members across the state’s 30 local government areas to remain committed to the party. He said unity would be necessary if the APC hopes to regain stronger ground in Osun.

He also advised party leaders to avoid blame games and internal conflicts. According to him, such divisions could weaken the party and make it harder to reconnect with voters.

Oyintiloye said rebuilding the APC would require consistent work at the grassroots. He urged members to engage communities, listen to their concerns and regain their confidence.

He maintained that one election should not determine the future of the party. Instead, he said the APC should use the experience to correct its mistakes and develop a stronger political structure.

The APC chieftain therefore urged members to remain calm and work together. He said a united party would be better positioned to compete in future elections.

His comments come after the Osun governorship election, which has prompted fresh conversations about the APC’s future in the state. Oyintiloye believes unity, grassroots engagement and better planning can help the party rebuild.
