Yellow Card Raises $40 Million To Help Businesses Send Money Across The World

Yellow Card raised $40 million in fresh investment money to help businesses send and receive money across global borders quickly.

A famous pan-African financial technology company named Yellow Card has successfully raised forty million dollars in new investment money to help businesses move funds across different countries. The major announcement came out in early August 2026 after big global investors agreed to support the company’s plan to grow its digital dollar payment system.

Heavyweight investment groups like SC Ventures from Standard Chartered, Sony Innovation Fund, Polychain Capital, and Blockchain Capital all joined hands to provide the fresh money. This latest achievement brings the total amount of money Yellow Card has raised over the years to more than one hundred and twenty million dollars.

The money is being used to build better, faster, and safer financial bridges so that everyday companies and big commercial banks can send payments to other countries without waiting for days. Traditionally, when a business in Africa or Latin America wants to buy goods from another country, they must rely on old banking systems that charge heavy fees and take a very long time to move paper dollars.

Yellow Card solves this problem by using special digital dollars called stablecoins. These digital dollars live on safe computer networks, allowing money to travel across the internet almost instantly, just like sending a quick text message on a phone.

Yellow Card started its journey in 2016 in Nigeria as a basic place for individuals to buy and sell cryptocurrencies. However, the leaders of the company realized that local African businesses needed a reliable way to get real United States dollars to trade with international partners.

Over the last few years, the firm completely shifted its focus from helping retail individuals to serving registered businesses, banks, and major financial companies like Visa and Western Union. Today, the platform operates in over fifty countries across Africa, Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia.

Explaining why this new funding milestone is so important for the company’s future growth, Yellow Card Chief Executive Officer Chris Maurice stated that “this investment is a vote of confidence in what we’ve spent years building: the infrastructure that lets global businesses move money without a traditional correspondent banking.”

He further highlighted how working directly with financial institutions creates bigger opportunities for everyone, adding that “when institutions plug into this infrastructure, they’re not just modernizing payments, they’re unlocking dollar access for millions of businesses that traditional correspondent banking has left behind.”

Speaking on how the company has grown and evolved beyond its early days, Mrs. Lasbery Oludimu, who serves as Group Vice-President of Operations and Managing Director at Yellow Card Nigeria, explained to journalists during a media briefing that “Yellow Card is no longer a crypto exchange; we are a stablecoin infrastructure provider focused on the technology itself.”

Investors backing the company are equally confident that digital dollars will change how money moves around the globe. Commenting on why his firm chose to invest in Yellow Card, SC Ventures Chief Executive Officer Alex Manson noted that “stablecoins are here to stay, but their adoption will depend on robust infrastructure and clear real-world utility.” With this massive new funding boost, Yellow Card is now opening new offices and building local payment channels across Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific so that small and large businesses everywhere can trade with ease.
