Political activist Aisha Yesufu has urged opposition parties to unite under Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election. She said a united opposition would have a stronger chance of challenging the ruling party.
According to Yesufu, in a post on her X account,she called on the opposition leaders should put aside personal ambitions and focus on building a common platform.
She argued that Peter Obi remains a strong option to lead such a coalition because of his popularity and support among many Nigerians.
Furthermore, Yesufu said the opposition needs cooperation and a clear direction ahead of the 2027 election.
She explained that political interests should not prevent leaders from working together toward a shared goal.
She also called on opposition figures to avoid unnecessary competition. In addition, she maintained that parties would improve their chances if they present a united front under Peter Obi.
Meanwhile, Yesufu encouraged supporters to focus on strengthening the opposition movement. She urged them to avoid divisions that could weaken efforts to challenge the ruling party.
Her comments come amid ongoing discussions about possible alliances among opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general election. Several political leaders have continued consultations on how to form a stronger platform.
