The Wike PDP 2027 Elections message took centre stage at the party’s 109th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, urged members to prepare for a difficult political contest ahead of the next general elections.
According to reports shared by Instablog9ja, Wike told party members that political power is never handed over freely. He said politicians must earn it through hard work, sacrifice and determination.
The former Rivers State governor reminded aspirants that opposition politics comes with challenges. He warned that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) cannot return to power through wishful thinking or a sense of entitlement.
Speaking on the Wike PDP 2027 Elections campaign outlook, the minister encouraged party members not to lose focus when faced with pressure. He noted that many successful politicians achieved their goals after overcoming difficult moments.
Wike said arrests, intimidation and court cases should not discourage serious contenders. He added that political victories often come after periods of struggle and persistence.
The minister also expressed confidence that ongoing legal disputes involving the party would not affect its preparations for future elections. He said the PDP remains committed to strengthening its structure and positioning itself for success.
As part of the Wike PDP 2027 Elections strategy, he urged members to embrace the realities of opposition politics. He criticised those who still expect the benefits that come with being in government and called on them to focus on rebuilding the party.
While wike challenged leaders and aspirants to concentrate on winning elections, expanding grassroots support and delivering results. He said political success requires courage, endurance and consistency.
Earlier, PDP National Chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed called for unity among party members. He praised party officials for conducting recent primaries successfully and also commended Wike for his support and guidance.
Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, appealed for reconciliation within the party. He urged members to move beyond disagreements arising from the primaries and work together toward a common goal.
Ohuabunwa said the party’s future depends on stronger unity, wider supporter mobilisation and deeper grassroots engagement across the country.
