American rapper Nicki Minaj urged global celebrities and influencers to speak out against the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

World famous American rapper and global music star, Onika Tanya Maraj Petty, popularly known around the world as Nicki Minaj, has made an urgent public call to celebrities, musicians, movie stars, and social media influencers across the globe to use their loud voices to speak up against the alleged persecution, harassment, and killing of Christians in Nigeria.

The iconic hip-hop artiste delivered the emotional message while addressing a large audience during a public event held at Tesla’s Giga Texas facility in Austin, Texas, United States.

Speaking to her fans and newsmen during the event, the 43 year old award winning musician revealed that her deep personal interest in Nigerian affairs is tied to her Christian faith, her personal pastor who hails directly from Nigeria, and her massive Nigerian fanbase affectionately known as the “Barbs”.

She explained that after following recent news reports and social media updates showing violent attacks against innocent churchgoers and Christian communities in parts of West Africa, she felt deeply disturbed that global leaders and famous entertainers were staying silent on the matter.

Opening her speech by explaining her direct personal connection to the African continent’s most populous nation, Nicki Minaj stated: “For Nigeria personally, my pastor is from Nigeria, so I have a link to Nigeria because of him and of course, I have a lot of Nigerian barbs but what I started seeing was the brutality in which Christians are being treated there just for being Christians and I thought why isn’t anyone making a big deal out of this?”

The rap star pointed out that many famous public figures, social media creators, and wealthy celebrities often refuse to talk about human rights abuses, religious killings, or painful political issues because they feel such serious topics are not fashionable, cool, or popular on the internet.

Expressing deep sadness over how public figures avoid painful real-world problems to protect their personal image, Minaj noted that certain serious issues receive little attention because people consider them uncomfortable or unpopular topics to discuss publicly.

Calling on fellow entertainment figures, top internet creators, and international personalities to join hands with her in raising public awareness and demanding protection for believers, the music icon expressed hope for a major international movement.

Urging world influencers and fellow stars to join her campaign for justice, Nicki Minaj added: “I’m hoping that more celebrities or people, influencers, I’m hoping that they come aboard the train to start speaking out about what’s happening to Christians in Nigeria.”

The “Super Bass” crooner reassured her followers and the global Christian community that her public remarks were not just a one-time speech, promising to use her massive international platform and financial resources to fight for religious freedom and support victims of violence.

Promising to take further action and continue fighting for human rights, the hip-hop queen added: “And I look forward to doing more to help in that way, in that cause.”

Taking her campaign directly to her millions of followers across social media platforms like X and Instagram, the mother of one posted a powerful message demanding an immediate stop to religious violence across all nations.

Writing a passionate message of peace to world leaders on social media, Nicki Minaj posted: “Shed not their blood anymore. All Nations hear this. Shed not their blood; you have shed the blood of those that called you my name. #FreeChristians.”

Nicki Minaj’s speech has drawn praise from religious organizations and human rights advocates worldwide, who hope her loud voice will push international bodies to protect vulnerable citizens everywhere.
