APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda stated that internal party polls show President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that internal election surveys and research conducted by the ruling party show that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential election.
The ruling party chief made this confident assertion on Sunday, October 11, 2026, while featuring as a live guest on Sunday Politics, a popular political interview program broadcast nationwide on Channels Television.
Speaking during the television interview, Professor Yilwatda explained that the APC leadership has been carrying out extensive ground research and public opinion polls across all 36 states of the federation.
He stated that the data gathered directly from voters shows that the ruling party is leading opposition groups and enjoys strong support among everyday citizens, despite current economic challenges facing the nation.
Explaining how the ruling party gathers its political data and measures voter support across the country, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda stated: “We have done fact-finding; we are leading. We have done our polls. We have our own polls that give us the real statistics across the states.”
When the television host asked him directly whether the internal poll numbers and statistical data gathered by his party prove that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential contest, the APC national chairman responded without hesitation.
Responding with total confidence to the question about President Tinubu’s chances of winning re-election in 2027, Nentawe Yilwatda stated: “Of course!”
The APC chairman went further to criticize opposition political parties, accusing them of engaging in noise-making on media platforms rather than building real connections with grassroots voters across Nigerian communities.
He argued that opposition leaders only gather small groups of people in television studios for media shows without organizing meaningful political rallies or presenting realistic solutions to national issues.
Mocking the political strategy of opposition parties, Yilwatda stated: “My problem with the opposition is that they only do shows. They only come on television and gather people. Now they don’t even have rallies. They will just gather about 10 people to come out and wear some T-shirts.”
Addressing public concerns regarding high petrol prices, transport costs, and food inflation currently affecting family budgets across the country, the ruling party chairman appealed to Nigerians to remain patient with the administration.
He explained that the federal government led by President Tinubu is implementing deep economic reforms and tax policies designed to favor low-income earners and protect vulnerable citizens.
Reassuring citizens that current financial hardships will soon come to an end, Yilwatda noted: “What we are passing through in Nigeria, for example, at this moment, is temporary. The increase in the cost of fuel is temporary. Nigerians believe in us.”
The party chief also dismissed anti-government protesters calling for leadership change, insisting that small protest groups do not represent the true feelings of millions of Nigerian voters who support the president’s long term developmental vision.
Yilwatda comments have drawn swift reactions from opposition figures who argued that rising living costs will shape voter choices in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
