Dr. Abel Damina accused Apostle Arome Osayi’s camp of gaslighting and making false claims of persecution to avoid public accountability.
Popular Nigerian preacher and founder of Power City International, Dr. Abel Damina, has launched a fresh public attack against the followers and defenders of Apostle Arome Osayi.
Speaking during a broadcast shared across his official social media handles on Sunday, October 11, 2026, the outspoken cleric accused Apostle Arome’s camp of playing mind games and manipulating the public through gaslighting instead of addressing serious questions raised regarding their pulpit teachings and supernatural stories.
The ongoing religious dispute reached a high point after critics and Bible scholars began questioning several supernatural accounts, personal testimonies, and doctrinal statements delivered from the pulpit by Apostle Arome Osayi.
However, rather than opening the Bible to defend those claims, supporters and close allies of the Benue based preacher began declaring across the internet that Dr. Abel Damina was being used by Satan to persecute a true man of God.
Reacting strongly to these claims, Dr. Abel Damina stated that calling legitimate biblical questions “persecution” is a deliberate trick to silence truth and manipulate church members into accepting unverified stories without checking the scriptures.
Calling out the tactics used by Apostle Arome’s defenders to avoid facing facts, Dr. Abel Damina declared: “The people in the camp of Apostle Arome are gaslighting. They are gaslighting. Instead of paying attention to the issues, they have left the issues and now they have moved to labelling the issues as persecution.”
The senior pastor explained that whenever a preacher mounts the pulpit to make public statements, share personal experiences, or teach doctrines to thousands of believers, that preacher must be ready for public testing and questioning under biblical standards.
Emphasizing that public preaching requires open checking rather than emotional shields, Damina stated: Dr. Abel Damina responds again to Apostle Arome Osayi and explains why he believes the ongoing correction should NOT be called persecution, but PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY.
He added that true persecution only happens when believers are jailed, beaten, or killed for believing in Jesus Christ, not when public ministers are asked to prove their teachings using scripture.
Addressing the accusations coming from Apostle Arome’s camp that he was serving evil forces, Damina stated: “They said Satan is using me to attack Apostle Arome Osayi.”
Dismissing the allegation, Damina maintained that challenging careless words spoken from church pulpits is a biblically mandated duty meant to protect innocent believers from false doctrines and religious manipulation.
Demanding that public preachers take responsibility for their words before believers and non-believers alike, Dr. Abel Damina said, “Apostle Arome Osayi owes the Body of Christ and unbelievers an apology for careless talk.”
He stressed that preachers cannot make sensational claims in public and then hide behind religious titles or claim divine immunity when asked to provide biblical backing for their claims.
Dr. Abel Damina’s latest video has generated intense debate among Nigerian Christians. While many followers applauded Damina for insisting on biblical transparency, others urged both ministers to seek peace and resolve their differences privately.
