Hollywood actor John Boyega revealed he has been secretly married for nearly two years and is expecting a baby boy with his wife.

Famous Hollywood movie star and British-Nigerian actor John Boyega, best known for playing key roles in global blockbuster films like Star Wars and The Woman King, has surprised fans around the world by revealing that he has been secretly married for almost two years and is currently expecting a baby boy with his wife.

The 34 year old actor dropped the unexpected personal news during a detailed interview published on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, after a news reporter noticed a simple wedding band on his finger.

During the interview, the talented actor opened up about his private life, explaining that he and his partner preferred to keep their marriage hidden away from the public eye and social media noise to build a strong, quiet family bond before making any big announcement.

Showing off the special two-toned ring on his finger, John Boyega revealed the funny story behind how he bought his everyday wedding ring from a local Walmart store in Canoga Park, California.

Sharing the lighthearted moment when he bought his simple wedding band, John Boyega stated: “Oh yeah, this is my wedding ring. I’ve been married for coming up to two years now.”

Describing the spontaneous shopping trip where they picked up the ring, he added: “This is our very sentimental ring. This is the one we decided to pick up spontaneously because I just wanted the ring on my finger, so we went to Walmart to get this. It was a lovely trip to Walmart. Shout out, Walmart Canoga Park!”

When asked why they decided not to hold a massive, public traditional wedding party right away in line with his Nigerian heritage, the actor explained that he and his wife wanted to build a solid home first before holding any big party.

Explaining their decision to hold off on a huge public wedding party, John Boyega stated: “I would love to have a wedding celebration. We both like the idea of celebrating something established, rather than celebrating the entry. And by then, we’ll have to shut Nigeria down!”

Turning to his upcoming fatherhood, the excited actor confirmed that his wife is pregnant with their first child together, revealing that they are expecting a baby boy while also expressing joy over his role as a loving stepfather to his wife’s young son.

Reflecting on how fatherhood has brought him ultimate peace and satisfaction, he added: “So, you know, my life is completely, completely fulfilled in terms of family. It’s been so nice with the timing.”

Sharing his goals as a father and how he intends to step back slightly from non-stop film shooting to focus on his home, the movie star noted that family must always come first before fame and money.

Outlining his commitment to raising his children with deep love and care, John Boyega noted: “Us being parents is funny! I just want to make sure I’m present, I’m consistent and full of love.”

He explained further: “I’ve tried to as much as possible, especially following periods when I’ve worked a lot, to de-centre my career. There have been certain moments when I’ve known that this is a time for family. Y’know, there’s stuff to do.”

Fans and fellow celebrities across Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States have flooded social media with congratulatory messages for the actor and his growing family.
