Nigerian music superstar Davido submitted his sixth album Oriade and hit songs for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards.
Nigerian Afrobeats singer and record label boss, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has submitted his latest body of work and hit songs for official consideration at the upcoming 69th Annual Grammy Awards taking place in 2027.
The major music update was made public on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, through a viral post shared on X by the well-known music awards tracking page, The Grammy Guru.
According to the disclosure, the 33 year old music icon submitted his sixth studio album titled “Oriade” alongside several top collaboration singles across major global award categories.
The submission push comes as the Recording Academy opens its first round voting process for international projects released between late 2025 and late 2026.
Music industry watchers explain that entering works for consideration is the required first step before the official nomination list is finalized by voters.
Detailing the album categories where the Nigerian music star is seeking top honors for his project, the award update platform listed the full entries.
Outlining the specific categories where Davido entered his sixth studio album, the announcement stated: “’Oriade’, his sixth studio album, was entered for Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical and Best Album Cover.”
Apart from his main album project, Davido also entered several hit collaboration singles for consideration in big song categories, featuring both local Nigerian artists and international stars.
Highlighting the submission of his popular single featuring long-time collaborator Mayorkun and fast rising artist FOLA, the disclosure noted: “Davido’s hit ‘B4 B4,’ featuring Mayorkun and FOLA, was submitted for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.”
The music platform further revealed that the singer entered another heavy collaboration track featuring amapiano stars and local hitmakers across two major categories.
Detailing the second major single entry, the award tracker reported: “Another collaboration, ‘Nakupenda,’ featuring TxC, Zlatan, Shoday, Scotts Maphuma and Al Xapo, was entered for Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.”
Additionally, his hit track “Le Show,” featuring female music star Ayra Starr and American rapper French Montana, was put forward for Best African Music Performance, while “I Know Who I Be” was entered for Best Music Video.
While entering songs for consideration does not automatically mean a person has gotten an official nomination, millions of fans across Nigeria and Africa have taken to social media to cheer the singer as he makes another strong push for the prestigious gold trophy.
Having previously received five Grammy nominations throughout his career, fans remain hopeful that his new project will secure final nods when official nominations are announced.
The first round voting by Recording Academy members will continue through late October ahead of the official nomination reveals.
