President Bola Tinubu described himself as an errand man of the APC and promised to uphold the party’s manifesto ahead of the 2027 elections.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has publicly reaffirmed his total dedication to the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), describing himself as an errand man of the party who is ready to follow all party rules and keep all promises made to citizens across the country.

The Nigerian leader made this strong promise on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, while speaking to party leaders, state governors, and campaign members inside the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa located in Abuja during the official launch of the party’s presidential campaign council for the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Speaking to a packed audience of party leaders, government officials, and grassroots organizers, the President raised his hand to reassure party members that he remains completely loyal to the original vision, plans, and promises that brought the party into power.

Promising total dedication and humility in serving the party and the country, President Bola Tinubu stated: “To me, I am your errand man. Even for the president, I raise my hand for full commitment that we abide by my promises and the manifestos, the objective, the intention of our party. That’s all I give you.”

Addressing political critics and opposition figures who had predicted that the party would break apart during its internal selection process, the President praised members for standing united and conducting peaceful internal elections across all wards, local governments, and states.

Recalling how the party completed its internal leadership elections despite predictions of failure, President Bola Tinubu added: “We conducted it. They said there would be implosion. We passed through it. We did not fail. You did not let us down.”

Highlighting how the party has emerged stronger, wiser, and more united to face the upcoming national election contest, the President stated: “This council will carry our vision, our record and our agenda to every Nigerian, and it will carry them to every ward of this country. We arrive at this moment strong, united and renewed.”

Responding to advice from senior party leaders who cautioned him not to allow heavy election campaign travel to distract him from his main daily job of running the country and fixing economic issues, President Tinubu agreed that national governance must always come first before political rallies.

Explaining that official government duties will continue without stopping during campaign periods, the President stated: “You have warned me and asked me not to allow the rigour of the campaign to distract me from governance. I hear you. I am in full agreement with your decision. Nigeria needs more attention now than ever before.”

He added: “The responsibility of this office does not pause. That responsibility did not recognise our agenda here today. The Constitution allows INEC to make room for parliament but not for the campaign. The job must go on.”

Reassuring the campaign team that he will still create time to talk directly with ordinary citizens even while staying focused on state duties, President Tinubu noted: “However, I will still make time to speak directly with Nigerians even as you lead the campaign in the states and local government areas, so you will excuse me from going everywhere with you.”

Expressing total confidence that the party will secure victory in the upcoming elections, the President celebrated the dedication of party workers, saying: “I celebrate you. I celebrate you, no doubt about that. Nigeria will continue to celebrate you. You will see the joy of this victory. You will share in the joy.”

The official launch of the campaign council signals the start of nationwide political activities ahead of the 2027 presidential polls.
