Veteran actor Kanayo O. Kanayo criticized preachers claiming to visit heaven, warning church members to exercise caution and spiritual wisdom.

Famous veteran Nollywood actor and public social commentator, Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, popularly known as Kanayo O. Kanayo, has waded into the ongoing religious controversy on social media, strongly criticizing pastors who claim to have visited heaven and returned to Earth.

The well-known movie star expressed deep shock over the growing trend where religious leaders share unbelievable stories about traveling to heaven multiple times, while church members sit down to clap for them instead of asking hard questions.

The actor shared his strong thoughts in a video message posted on his official social media pages, which quickly went viral across Instagram and other digital platforms.

Speaking with deep concern about the state of the Christian faith and the actions of some modern religious leaders, Kanayo pointed out that even Jesus Christ only ascended to heaven after His death and resurrection.

Expressing his frustration over preachers making wild claims while still walking alive on Earth, Kanayo O. Kanayo stated: “A man who declares himself a pastor or prophet and tells people he’s been to heaven, and members are still in that church. If you’re a follower of Christ, what happened to Jesus? After his death, he died and then ascended into heaven. Pastor Arome is still alive and telling you people that he went to heaven, and then you have members who are there and clapping.”

The veteran actor warned that many churchgoers are being led astray by false teachings because they refuse to read the Bible properly or use their God-given common sense to examine what they hear from the pulpit.

Stressing the serious spiritual danger facing believers who follow unverified testimonies blindly, the movie star noted: “Many people are going to hell with their eyes open. This is not okay for the body of Christ. There are a lot of lies being told.”

Kanayo made it clear that his public statement was not meant to fight the church or pull down true ministers of God, but rather to wake up African Christians to be careful about the kinds of spiritual voices and leaders they submit themselves to.

Urging everyday people, especially Nigerians and Africans, to test every message against the Holy Scriptures, Kanayo O. Kanayo declared: “This is not an attack on the body of Christ, but Nigerians, especially Nigerians and Africans, beware of whose voice you are under. This is becoming so embarrassing. People must mind what they say as a doctrine.”

The actor’s bold comments have drawn massive praise from social media users, many of whom commended the veteran celebrity for speaking out against extreme and unscriptural claims spreading inside some modern worship centers.

Fans and religious commentators continue to share the video across Facebook and YouTube as the debate over heavenly testimonies grows louder.
