Popular Nigerian movie star and filmmaker, Adunni Adewale-Raji, who is widely known across the country as Adunni Ade, has announced the sad death of her beloved mother after a long and painful fight with illness.
The famous actress revealed the heartbreaking family loss on Monday, October 19, 2026, through an emotional public statement published on her official social media page.
According to the movie star, her mother passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2026, leaving behind children, grandchildren, sisters, and extended family members who loved her deeply.
Starting her emotional message with a sacred Islamic prayer of total submission to God Almighty, the star actress shared her deep grief while accepting the painful reality of losing her mother.
Expressing her sorrow and announcing the death of her mother to her fans and colleagues in the movie industry, Adunni Ade wrote: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return. With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator on October 18 after a long battle with illness.”
The actress explained that her mother was a strong woman who suffered health issues for a long time before she finally gave up the ghost.
Praying for God Almighty to show her late mother mercy, forgive all her mistakes, and welcome her into a beautiful place in heaven, the actress added: “Ya Allah, forgive her shortcomings, have mercy upon her, make her grave spacious and filled with light, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus. Grant us sabr and strength as we navigate this painful loss. Ameen.”

Continuing her heartfelt tribute to her late mother, the popular screen icon reaffirmed her eternal love for her mother, hoping that God will bring them together again in the afterlife.
Writing a final loving message to her mother, Adunni Ade wrote: “Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen.”
The film producer noted that her mother left behind many family members who will keep remembering her good heart and sweet memories.
Highlighting the family members left behind by the deceased, the actress stated: “She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, sisters and loved ones, who will forever hold her memory close.”
