Ex-APC Chieftain Wants Akume, Gbajabiamila, Cardoso Sacked Over Fake Agency Scandal

Ex-APC Chieftain Wants Akume, Gbajabiamila, Cardoso Sacked Over Fake Agency Scandal

A former APC chieftain, Dr. Jackson Lekan Ojo, has called on President Bola Tinubu to remove Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and Central Bank Governor Olayemi Cardoso over the fake agency scandal.

According to Daily Post, Ojo made the demand while reacting to the controversy surrounding the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). The Presidency has insisted that the council is not a recognised government agency.

However, Ojo argued that the allegations have raised serious concerns. He said the government must act quickly to protect public trust. He also maintained that the officials should step aside while authorities investigate the matter.

Furthermore, Ojo questioned how a body described as non-existent could allegedly receive budget allocations and operate bank accounts. He said such claims require a thorough and transparent investigation.

In addition, he insisted that removing the affected officials would help ensure a fair probe. He warned that allowing them to remain in office could create doubts about the investigation’s credibility.

Ojo also stressed that accountability should apply to every public official. He said no one should receive special treatment because of political influence or position.

Meanwhile, the fake agency scandal has continued to generate public debate across the country. The Presidency, however, has maintained that the PFIPC does not exist as a government agency.

As a result, many Nigerians are waiting to see whether the Federal Government will order a full investigation into the allegations. The controversy continues to attract widespread attention.
