FCT CP Issues Tough Warning to Police Officers: Choose Duty or Crime

The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory has warned officers that there is no place in the Nigeria Police Force for personnel involved in theft or other crimes.

He urged them to uphold integrity, professionalism and public trust while carrying out their duties.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, has warned police officers to stay away from crime. He said there is no room in the Nigeria Police Force for officers involved in theft or other illegal activities.

Addressing officers and operatives, Ahmed said every officer must choose between serving the public and engaging in crime.

“You cannot be a police officer and a thief. Choose one,” he said. He added that the command would not tolerate theft, corruption or any other form of misconduct among its personnel.

The FCT CP warns police officers that the public expects discipline, honesty and professionalism from those entrusted with enforcing the law. He stressed that any officer who abuses the office or engages in criminal acts will face disciplinary action.

Furthermore, he urged operatives to remain committed to protecting lives and property. He also asked them to carry out their constitutional duties with integrity, fairness and respect for the public.

The FCT CP warns police officers as the command continues efforts to strengthen public confidence through accountability and professional conduct. According to him, discipline within the force is key to earning and maintaining the trust of residents.
