Pastor Sam Adegoke has apologised for past affairs with multiple women and stepped down from running his church in Akure.
The founder and lead pastor of Elijah Generation Church in Akure, Ondo State, Apostle Sam Adegoke, popularly known as Apostle Sam Pamilerin, has publicly apologised for his past sexual relationships with several women before his recent marriage.
Following social media call-outs and accusations, the cleric announced that he has stepped down from running his church as a full public ministry while taking time off for counselling and spiritual restoration.
The development broke on Sunday, October 4, 2026, after the newly married pastor released an official statement on his social media page to address allegations that surfaced online following his recent wedding ceremony.
In the statement, the pastor admitted that his past actions were completely wrong and went against the gospel message of purity that he preaches to his congregation.
Addressing his followers and the public, Pastor Sam Adegoke stated that he takes full responsibility for his past mistakes without making any excuses.
He explained that he decided to step away from social media and active pulpit duties to seek guidance and undergo personal transformation.
Explaining his misconduct and expressing regret, Pastor Sam Adegoke said: “Over the past few weeks, I have stepped back from public ministry and social media to reflect, seek counsel, and honestly address matters from my past. Before I was married, I was involved in sexual relationships with women that I deeply regret. Although these events occurred before my marriage, I acknowledge that my actions were wrong and fell short of the standards of holiness, integrity, and self-control I am called to uphold as a Christian and minister of the Gospel.”
He went on to ask for forgiveness from everyone affected by his actions, including his wife, in-laws, church members, and the women involved.

He assured his church members that he is completely faithful to his wife and working on rebuilding trust.
Reaching out to those he disappointed, Adegoke added: “I take full responsibility for my actions and sincerely apologise to the women involved for any hurt, disappointment, or harm I may have caused. I’ve been called out on social media platforms. I want to say I’m deeply sorry to everyone my actions and inactions have hurt. The truth is, I was involved in inappropriate behaviour with females over a couple of years… I went against the sexual purity message I preach and believe in, and I am so sorry. I failed those of you who look up to me. Please find a place in your hearts to forgive me.”
The pastor clarified that his wife knew nothing about his past relationships while they were happening. He added that no minors were involved and stated that he is no longer running a full church setup for now, but only an interim fellowship for members who still wish to learn from him while he undergoes spiritual healing.
Asking for prayers rather than public defense, Adegoke concluded:“I ask for prayer, not that my actions would be excused, but that I would have the humility and courage to face them honestly, make amends where appropriate, protect those affected, and allow God to produce genuine transformation in my life.”
