Kenneth Okonkwo has officially received court papers from Peter Obi, pushing the legal dispute between the former political allies into a new phase.

According to Daily Post, the former Labour Party presidential candidate has formally served Kenneth Okonkwo with court documents in his alleged defamation suit. The case follows comments Obi claims damaged his reputation and public image.

The lawsuit, filed before the High Court of Anambra State in Onitsha, seeks ₦8 billion in damages. The court papers confirm that the legal process has now been served, allowing the matter to move forward.

The disagreement stems from remarks Okonkwo reportedly made during a television interview on June 8. Obi’s legal team argues that the comments falsely linked him to fraudulent activities. The lawyers insist the allegations were malicious and have harmed his credibility both in Nigeria and abroad.
