Obasanjo Kwankwaso Meeting in kano ahead of 2027

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo held a private meeting with former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso in Kano on Thursday, sparking fresh political discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Daily Post, the Obasanjo Kwankwaso meeting took place during Obasanjo’s visit to Kano for an official engagement. Although both leaders described the visit as a courtesy call, they did not reveal what they discussed behind closed doors.

Kwankwaso attended the meeting with the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Kano, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo. His media aide, Saifullahi Hassan, later confirmed the visit in a statement issued after the meeting.

Hassan said the Obasanjo Kwankwaso meeting gave both leaders an opportunity to exchange views during Obasanjo’s stay in Kano. However, he did not disclose whether their conversation focused on politics, governance or the 2027 elections.
