Osun election Adeleke has insisted that the August 15 governorship election will send a strong message to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The governor also raised fresh allegations against the opposition ahead of the poll.
According to Daily Post, Governor Ademola Adeleke made the remarks on Thursday while speaking about the upcoming election. He said the people of Osun are ready to defend their democratic rights through the ballot.
Adeleke alleged that some APC leaders have continued to interfere in the state’s political affairs since the 2022 governorship election. He claimed their actions were aimed at frustrating his administration and weakening the will of the people.
The governor argued that the August 15 election is about more than choosing a governor. Instead, he said it is an opportunity for voters to show that democracy must be respected.
Furthermore, Adeleke claimed that some federal institutions were being used to influence the political environment before the election. He maintained that such actions could affect public confidence in the electoral process.
However, the governor urged residents to remain peaceful throughout the election period. He encouraged eligible voters to come out in large numbers and vote without fear or intimidation.
In addition, Adeleke appealed to security agencies and electoral officials to remain neutral. He stressed that every voter deserves a free, fair and credible election.
