Former Anambra State Governor and prominent political leader Peter Obi has promised Nigerians that his team will deploy trusted party agents to every polling unit across the country during the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during political engagements and news interviews on September 15, 2026, the presidential hopeful declared that this new plan will ensure that nobody steals the votes given to him by the people.
Under this strategic setup, Obi explained that every single voting center in Nigeria will have dedicated watchers to collect, verify, and monitor the official result sheets right at the local level.
The main reason for this early decision comes from the huge complaints and problems that happened during the previous 2023 presidential election.
Many voters felt unhappy with how results were handled after voting ended at various centers across the nation. To stop those same problems from happening again, Obi wants every vote counted in the open so that the real choice of the citizens will stand.
By training and placing agents everywhere, his campaign aims to monitor the voting process from the moment the first ballot is cast until the final results are recorded.

Explaining why having trusted agents at every center is necessary to protect the people’s voice, Peter Obi shared his strong stance on protecting the mandate of the voters.
Speaking on the plan to protect votes at the local level, Peter Obi said, “We are going to have dual transmission. This time around, we will make sure every polling unit has a system that transmits to our own situation room the correct results”.
He also emphasized that the responsibility of protecting the country belongs to every citizen who wants a better future.
Calling on everyday voters to join in watching over their centers, Peter Obi stated, “We must make sure that at every polling unit, the votes are counted, the votes are recorded properly, the votes are transmitted properly”.
Reaffirming his commitment to clean politics and democratic fairness, he added, “I don’t need to recruit anybody as polling unit agents; voters should recruit themselves because we are talking about a better society for them and their children”.
Reports confirm that the campaign is setting up an independent system to receive real time result updates directly from field agents.
Meanwhile, coverage from Leadership Newspaper shows that electoral experts are reviewing how political parties handle polling unit monitoring to improve election transparency across all 36 states.
