Actress Ngozi Ezeonu cries out as fake medicines, soft drinks, and baby food kill young people across Nigeria.
Popular veteran Nollywood actress, Ngozi Ezeonu, has raised a strong public alarm over the dangerous spread of fake drugs, fake soft drinks, and fake baby food across Nigeria.
The beloved movie star shared a sad and emotional video message on her social media page on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, to warn citizens and beg wicked people to stop making fake products that are killing innocent people every day.
In her heartfelt message, the actress expressed deep worry over how young people are falling sick and dying in hospitals from severe organ damage because the medicines and items they buy in stores are fake.
She explained that greedy people are manufacturing fake items to make money, without caring that their actions are destroying lives and sending young men and women to early graves.
Crying out over the painful situation in the country, Ngozi Ezeonu stated: “I don’t understand what’s happening in this country anymore. When you go to hospitals, you see young people dying with kidney problems, liver problems, because everything is fake! I don’t know what the authorities are doing.”
The famous actress begged those involved in the bad business of making fake goods to have mercy and think about human life.
She reminded everyone that money should not be made by hurting or killing other human beings, because nobody can enjoy money that comes from evil deeds.
Pleading with those selling fake items to change their ways, Ngozi Ezeonu said: “I know we have to look for money and be rich, but not at the detriment of lives. We shouldn’t be our own enemy.”
She went further to list the everyday things that bad people are now copying and selling to unsuspecting families in the market.
She noted with great pain that even food meant for babies and small children is no longer safe from bad businessmen.
Pointing out the dangerous items being fake-produced, she added: “The common drinks children take, you have a lot of fake ones. Children’s formula is fake. I do not understand this whole thing. What is going on?”
The movie star also challenged wealthy people and leaders who feel unconcerned because they have enough money to travel abroad for medical treatment whenever they fall sick.
She reminded them that the millions of poor citizens who cannot travel outside Nigeria depend completely on local chemist shops and local hospitals to survive.
Questioning people who profit from human suffering, Ngozi Ezeonu asked: “What would you gain when people die? When people just go like that because you have to make money?”
She called on government agencies and regulatory officers in charge of health and food safety to wake up, go into the markets, and check what people are eating and drinking every day.
She noted that protecting human lives should be the most important work of any good government.
Calling on leaders to do their job properly, she said: “It’s not just politics. We are the ones you are governing. Do you people check the standards of what people eat these days?”
Ngozi Ezeonu’s video comes at a time when other movie stars, including Ruth Kadiri, have also cried out over fake products and poor food quality in the country.
Thousands of Nigerians on social media are now calling on regulatory agencies like NAFDAC to quickly clear fake drugs and dangerous baby foods out of Nigerian markets.
