Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign Gets Major Boost as Yari Accepts DG Role

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign has received a major boost following the acceptance of Senator Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

According to daily post, Yari accepted the appointment as the All Progressives Congress (APC) begins to strengthen its campaign structure ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The former Zamfara State governor is expected to play a central role in coordinating the ruling party’s campaign activities across the country.

His appointment comes as the APC begins preparations for another tough presidential contest. Yari brings years of political experience to the position. He previously served as Zamfara State governor and remains an influential figure within the ruling party.

His new responsibility will involve working with other senior APC leaders to build support for Tinubu ahead of the election. Tinubu will serve as chairman of the campaign council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima will act as vice chairman.

APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda was also named a vice chairman of the council. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as secretary. The campaign council also includes several prominent APC figures who have been assigned different responsibilities.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni are among those appointed as deputy director-generals for regional coordination.

Senator Adams Oshiomhole will oversee mobilisation, while James Abiodun Faleke will handle election planning, coordination and monitoring. The appointments reflect the APC’s plan to build a strong campaign network ahead of the 2027 election.

Yari’s acceptance of the DG position also signals that the party is moving closer to full-scale campaign preparations. The former governor will have to work with party leaders, governors and other stakeholders to strengthen the APC’s support base.

Meanwhile, Tinubu has charged members of the campaign council to communicate the achievements of his administration to Nigerians. The President also urged the team to work together towards securing victory for the APC in 2027.

With Yari now taking up the campaign DG role, attention will turn to how the APC uses its new political structure to defend Tinubu’s presidency.
