Lagos Raises Alert Level Over Ebola Fears, Urges Residents Not to Panic

The Lagos State Government has reassured residents that there is currently no confirmed Ebola case in the state, even as concerns continue to grow over reports of fresh outbreaks in parts of Africa.

Speaking on the situation, state authorities said emergency response measures have already been activated to prevent any possible spread into Lagos.

According to officials, surveillance has been intensified across health facilities, airports, and other major entry points into the state.

The government said medical teams and disease control officials are on high alert and ready to respond swiftly if any suspected case is detected.

Residents were also reminded that Lagos has experience handling deadly outbreaks, especially after successfully containing Ebola in Nigeria years ago.

While urging people to stay calm, officials warned against spreading false rumours or panic online.

They encouraged residents to focus on preventive measures such as regular hand washing, maintaining good hygiene, and reporting any unusual symptoms quickly.

The state government insisted that there is no reason for fear at the moment, adding that authorities are closely monitoring developments and taking every necessary step to protect residents.
