Atiku Visits Amaechi After ADC Primary Dispute

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said he is ready to personally meet with Rotimi Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen following tensions surrounding the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary.

Atiku, who emerged as the winner of the party’s primary election, said unity within the opposition remains more important than personal disagreements.

He explained that he would reach out to both men in a bid to ease concerns and strengthen cooperation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The former PDP presidential candidate made the remark while reacting to complaints that followed the conduct of the primary.

Why Atiku Visits Amaechi Matters

Reports showed that Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen were dissatisfied with aspects of the exercise and questioned the credibility of the process.

Despite the growing controversy, Atiku insisted that political disagreements are normal in every democratic context.

He added that what matters most is the ability of party leaders to reconcile and move forward together.

According to him, the ADC cannot afford internal division at a time many Nigerians are demanding a stronger opposition ahead of 2027.

He stressed that discussions and consultations would continue in order to bring every stakeholder onto the same page.

The development has generated fresh conversations within political circles, especially as Amaechi remains one of the influential figures in the opposition movement. Many supporters now expect possible reconciliation talks in the coming days.

Political observers believe Atiku’s decision to personally visit the aggrieved aspirants may help reduce tension inside the party and prevent deeper cracks before the general election campaign begins.
